Bonjour!!!!
AHHHHHH so....I hope you all got the chance to watch General Conference. It was wonderful to get to take a break for a few hours and just listen to everyone speak. I even got to watch the entire session in english with the rest of the missionaries. #iunderstood. We were all really excited! Everything was so good. I think one of my top favorites was Elder Bednar about chasing away fear with the faith of God. I thought Elder Holland was pretty boss too when he shared the story of the two brothers. I also liked Elder Packer sharing the bit about a cookie and a kiss.....I know, I know....I'm such a girl! It was really cute though. Yeah, there was a lot of talks about marriage. All the missionaries kept freaking out about that! Kinda funny:) I think my favorite part of all from conference...was the part when I got to stand with all the missionaries in the room and sing "I know that my Redeemer lives".
It was really cool because in between sessions...Soeur Clark and I were heading back home on the metro to grab some dinner...and while we were standing there, a guy was sitting down across from me and kept staring at my plaque....I smiled at him and after two stops he said: "en fait, je suis catholique, et je voudrais vous demander....que-ce que le difference entre votre Eglise et le Catholique." (I am catholic and I would like to ask you what the difference is between your church and mine)...it was kind of awkward because he's a guy, and guys make me nervous now...but I got the chance to give him a card and bear testimony. It was so cool!
We all were flipping out when Bishop Causse spoke and then President Teixiera...and then Elder Nielson spoke right after; he is supposed to becoming at the end of the month for our mission conference. We just found out that the France Paris Mission is gonna be getting i-pads and we are doing facebook too!
This past week was really good. We had our zone conference in Belgium. We talked all about how fear and faith cannot coexist in the same place. I think that is part of the reason I like Elder Bednar's talk so much. We talked all about how being bold is believing in Heavenly Father's answers and trusting that when you pray to Him for a specific question or blessing...He will send a specific answer to you. We also got to watch the "Because He Lives" video on the church website...if you haven't seen it, I really recommend it! It is wonderful! I also got to eat a belgian gouf waffle and chocolate...I'd say it was a successful Zone Conference:)
So, kind of a funny side-note....this past week was April Fool's.....and so living in an apartment with 3 other soeurs....we had to take advantage of it. Long story short....Soeur Nielson and Soeur Barton and I all hid each others plaques and swapped...so, I was Soeur Barton for a day! I felt super weird!! And they decided to be funny the day after April Fool's too by putting green food coloring in my milk. It took me a full 5 minutes to realize that they had done it and I hadn't bought sterilized french milk. After that 5 minutes...I ran into their room and yelled: "It doesn't count! April Fool's was yesterday!!!" They got a hoot outta that. Oh Soeurs....what ya gonna do with em?:)
Soeur Clark and I also fasted for one of our Recent converts on that day....she has been looking for work for awhile and hasn't had any luck...but later that day, she texted us and told us that her interview went through and she got a job! We were freaking out!!! So, we decided to celebrate with Ben and Jerry's ice cream...and we splurged to buy some peanut butter for the week. It was worth every euro:)
Well...I hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday. it was a gorgeous sunny day here in Lille...we haven't had a warm day in a long time, so it was perfect all around for conference:) I invite you all to watch "Because He Lives" this week...it is great!
I hit my 9 months this week and next sunday will be my 20th birthday...I am so grateful to get to spend this time serving alongside my Savior. I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Bisous,
