Bonjour a tous!
I hope that everybody had a wonderful week!!! It is so awesome to hear from everybody. Well, except when I get engagement announcements and stuff like that:) I feel a little weird when I read about that stuff but anyways....
This week was INSANE! So, it was pretty cool....Saturday, some missionaries in Calais organized a zone-finding day; so all the missionaries in V D'ascq/Lille/St.Quentin/Dunkerque/Amiens went to Calais to work with some members to go porting and contacting. It was so cool! When we first got there, it reminded me of the movie 'The Three Musketeers'--where they fight all the bad guys and such. Yeah it was pretty sweet! To make it even better, there was like no dog poop on the rue which is like a dream compared to Lille! So, we first met up at the church and got paired up with a member to go contacting. I actually got two older women (another trio!:)-Françoise and Amèlie...they were super cute. We went contacting in a little centre and it was kind of funny because they both went up to shoppers in a market and just like started to ask them if they believed in Jesus....Oh my gosh! I was like "No no, we don't do it like that!" They also started to Bible Bash some Temoin Jehovah's...and I couldn't help my laughter there:) I had a really neat experience though...right before we were heading back to the car....they contacted a man (also, something we aren't supposed to do:), and he started to speak in English and say "No no, I don't understand I am from Hungary"....and they both grabbed me and I got to talk with him for awhile. Long story short....he is a taxi driver and his car broke down right along the pier of Calais and he was waiting for it to get fixed...he told me how his mother is deathly sick and how he didn't know why but he just kept walking along our area. Actually I think getting to talk to him was my favorite lesson so far on my mission. It was really cool because I spoke to him in English, so I understood everything....and I actually taught him by myself because the two ladies I was with didn't understand english. I talked to him about his mother and the Plan of Salvation...he spelled out his mother's name for me on the back of a car, so that I could pray for her...and I offered him a Book of Mormon, but it sucked because the only copy I had was in French...but he gave me his information and I promised that I would get one sent to him. I got to testify about how I believe things happen for a reason...and I believe that his car broke down just so that I could talk to him. It was seriously one of the best moments of my mission:)
Later Saturday night, we went porting with another member...I got to go with a 13 year old girl named Estelle. We gave away a ton of cards and I had so much fun with her! She actually emailed me today! And she bore her testimony later that night at a fireside all about how we saw so many miracles and how Calais didn't even know what hit em! I can now say I have a BFF in Calais:) We are planning to write each other while she is on her mission:)
We are still working with Cameron...she is wonderful, her family is still just having a hard time with the idea of baptism. Her mom actually yelled at me on the phone...mais, ça va, she is doing great. We had another ami text us randomly and say that she wanted to see us again....sweet! So many miracles!!!
We also saw our friend Akim again...he is the crazy muslim guy....he calls me Nelson Mandela:)
Things are going good....transfers are next Wednesday! Oh also, I won't be writing next Monday because all the missionaries are going to Versailles for a conference (ipads!)....so I think I will be writing next Tuesday....:) I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!!! Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you!
