Bonjour ma famille et mes ami!!!
Well, I hope you all had a good start to the new year! Soeur Ficquet, Soeur Tippett and I all went to la Famille Farigo's for the 31st. I learned how to make music with a champagne glass rim...so, I can check that off my bucket list!:) And then on the 1st, all the missionaries got to treat the day like a normal P-day, so the three of us were sitting down making goals for the new year and enjoying our pajama's...when we got a phone call from a lady in our branch named Soeur David because apparently the branch scheduled all the missionaries to be at a members house for New Year's Day...but nobody had actually told the missionaries. So, since the elder's had the car Soeur David told us that she would be over to pick us up in 10 minutes....oh my gosh, you would have been SO PROUD by how fast my tiny little body moved!! So, we ate with her and her husband and ended up playing Skip-Bo for 4 and a half hours!! After that we went home ate a bowl of cereal and I wrote down 15 goals that I had for the new year on a piece of tissue and flushed it down the toilet...I'd say it was a successful start:)
So...this past week...we taught Julie on vendredi et samedi...she always comes with a bunch of questions to each rendezvous (teaching appointment) so we figured Vendredi (Friday) we would answer her questions and Samedi (Saturday) we would teach her. We ended up teaching her about Fasting since yesterday was Fast Sunday. And I had the COOLEST experience when we were teaching her. We tried inviting her to be baptized but the whole idea makes her kind of nervous; but as we were sitting there...an idea popped into my head...so, she is super into the bible and to try and help her understand how important fasting is...I got the prompting to share the story about Esther. So, Soeur Ficquet helped me retell the story...and afterwards I just bore my testimony to Julie about how fasting is a way for us to feel the spirit stronger in our lives and Esther showed her faith through fasting and believing that the Lord would help her despite not know what the outcome would be. And I told her that baptism is a way for us to show our love and faith in the Lord too. Even if she doesn't know all the answers right now, she can show her faith in Him by being baptized when she receives the answer for herself. I bore my testimony to her that if she keeps praying and reading she WOULD receive and answer. I promised her that. I told her that I pray each day and night and multiple times in between to have the ability to speak French...and even though I'm not a pro at it yet, I know that Heavenly Father hears my prayers and quand le moment est bien He will allow me to be able to express everything that I'm feeling. I don't know when the answer will come for me or for Julie but I know that the Lord has a plan set before we realize it.
I hope you all have a wonderful week! I hit my 6 month mark this Friday and I can't believe how fast time is starting to fly...I am trying to make the most of everyday here in France. I love each and every person that I have the opportunity to meet. Thank you for all your love and support!
Je vous aime!
Bon Semaine!!!
