Bonjour a tous!
Hey everyone....this past week was crazy! The Lille/Arras missionaries all our zone conferences this week with our interview with President and Soeur Babin. It was great! We talked a lot about getting our ami's to church and making our planning sessions more spiritual. I really liked it! I even got to see Soeur Clark:) So, that was fun....Man, Soeur Back and I saw some crazy stuff this week....I don't have a lot of time to talk about all of them...but I wanted to share a few random experiences. So, last week I talked a little bit about a man that we ported into that told us he was not believing at all....well, we ended up going back again last week for a rdv, and it was seriously the coolest lesson ever! It was by far one of my favorites. So, the guys name is Eric...and we went in for our rdv and we found out that he had ended up reading the Retab. brochure that we had given him and he read the intro to the Book of Mormon (Awesome!). So, we got to talking with him for a little while, and like it wasn't really going anywhere. Soeur Back and I ambushed the poor guy with a bazillion questions to try and just figure out what to share with him. And I'm not even really sure how it happened but I remember we were asking him if he had ever prayed because he just kept telling us that he didn't believe in anything....and he shared with us that he had prayed before but after his parents died, it didn't mean anything to him-and out of nowhere I asked him what it would mean to him if he could see his mom again. And after the words came out....I was just thinking, "Great Nelson, that's not gonna help anything....", Eric looked over at me uber surprised and he got really teary and he told us that it would mean the world to him, especially since Mother's Day in France was coming up. It was really cool! Soeur Back and I got the chance to bear testimony about the Plan of Salvation-the spirit in the room was so strong; I can't do it justice...but it was seriously the coolest thing ever! He was so touched. After that experience, Soeur Back and I came to the conclusion that real men cry....:)Anyways, we also got the opportunity to spend the last two Sundays in the primary! Oh my gosh...I love little french children! They were so cute! We got to help them make little badges for their mom's for mothers day and Soeur Back and I got randomly called in to teach them for the 5th Sunday-we talked all about the Holy Ghost. There were only like 5 kids in there, but they were a lot of fun:) One of my favorite parts was when I asked them if we can see the Holy Ghost and we could touch him....they couldn't' decide, so to try and help them understand, I flicked Soeur Back and said "Can we do that to the Holy Ghost?" After laughing for awhile, they all came up with the conclusion that we can't but we can always pray to have him with us. I'd say it was a success:) I got a little teary during Sacrament meeting when they all came up in front of everyone and sang "Maman Je t'aime" for Mothers day. Haha...I also was talking to the bishop's wife Soeur Doigt yesterday about what fun things she was going to do for Mother's day...and she told me that she was just going to fix dinner for her family and that was it. And then the bishop popped out of nowhere and I was like "Frère Doit, est-ce que vous aller preparer quelques choses pour diner pour votre femme pour le fête du mere?"(are you going to make something for your wife for dinner for mother's day?)...and then Soeur Doigt was like: "C'est pas ses truc..." (it's not his thing) and then Frére Doit said, "Soeur Nelson, quand vous êtes marié, vous pouvez marié quelqu'un qui peut faire la cuisine." (Soeur Nelson, when you are married...you can marry someone who can do the cooking...) And then they proceeded to tell me all the qualities to look for in a husband. They thought it was hilarious when I told them I wasn't going to get married:) French people are weird. It was funny though...guess you had to be there.Well, I am sorry this is kind of a weird email....I sure love you all and I hope you have a fantastic week! Love you!!! Let me know if you need anything!
