Bonjour a tous!!!!
So....here is a little pic of me and my new companion Soeur Back:) Sorry the lighting isn't very good but we haven't had a lot of time: Also, please excuse the cuts on my face...I got a burn on my forehead from our booster stove....long story short, I got hit in the head by some flying hot oil in a pan when we were cooking tortillas and yeah that other one is a zit...so, please excuse that one! But anyways....the past week has been good. Soeur Nielson and I did a mini exchange when Soeur Clark and Soeur Barton left...we spent the day hauling luggage around for all the missionaries. I hate transfer day...its like the day of Satan....all your muscles are on fire from running around. But it ended really good when Soeur Back came in...we have been having fun ever since she got here:)We have already seen some miracles. We taught Cameron's aunt Luna on Friday and we committed her to bring Cameron to church when she is in town!! We were super excited about that! Cameron is doing good....still no baptismal date because of the family but she is doing awesome:)We had some cool stuff happen though....so, the other day we went porting by this park. We didn't have a lot of time before our next rendezvous but we went into this little circle and the first house we ported, a man answered and we told him why we're here....but before we could finish his wife came running to the door and started yelling at us and slammed the door in our faces. So, we didn't think much of it...and went next door and ended up talking with a woman for about 15 minutes about our church...she thought we were courageous to be here on our own-she wasn't really interested but it was cool to talk with her. Then it was really cool because the house after that a young girl answered and told us that her mom had left but we were able to talk with her for awhile and give her a Book of Mormon...she was really cute, we are gonna try and pass by again. It was cool because earlier that day Soeur Back and I made the goal to find a family this transfer to teach! We gave away a lot of cards but nobody was really interested....but while we were going from house to house in the circle...the man from the first house with the crazy wife came outside and started to organize the backseat of his car and he kept watching us....so, when we finished all the houses we decided to walk back slowly to see if he would come talk to us....and he totally did! We spent a really long time talking with him. His name is Jean-Claude (super french)....and we were able to talk to him for a long time about the Restoration. He was really cool and send he would look up our website!!! Miracles! It was kind of funny too because while we were talking to Jean-Claude...his next door neighbor that we had talked to for awhile was watching us through her window and smiling. It was pretty funny! We've also had some crazy stuff happen too. Since it is starting to get warmer, a lot of the creepers are starting to come out. We had some Muslim men give us a hard time the other day on the metro. We had to hide-out in the metro station until they left...its pretty crazy but we are doing good. I am excited to serve with Soeur Back...she is a wonderful missionary and she is teaching me a lot! I hope everyone has a wonderful Mothers Day....it is so fun for me to get to hear from you!!! I hit my 10 month mark this Saturday and I can't believe it!!! Time is starting to fly by. Thank you for all the emails and letters...I cannot tell you how much they mean to me! I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week:) Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you!XOXOXOXOXOXOSoeur Nelson
