Bonjour Everyone!!!!
Well...this was a really busy week here in St. Ouen! Soeur Ellis and and I are both pretty sick but we have seen a lot of miracles. So, this past week we have gone to see a lot of members. It is kind of hard in the wards in Paris because there are so many people and it is difficult to get to know everyone. But this past week, we called a bunch of the members and tried to stop by at least one family every day. It was fun getting to know everyone and being able to put a name with a face...so, when we walked into church yesterday we were greeted by a whole bunch of people that knew the Sister missionaries.
We received a very cool miracle on Thursday. We were walking to a members house who lives just down the street from the church here in St. Ouen...and on the way there, Soeur Ellis and I felt the impression to contact a lady. I stopped her and told her who we were and basically asked her who Jesus Christ is for her. Well, we ended up talking with her for around 15 minutes. Her name is Marianne:) Soeur Ellis and I were both able to bear our testimonies to her and talk to her about our church, and as we got further into our conversation Marianne said: "Do you have a card or something with your address?"...we were both a little shocked and it took us a full 30 seconds to respond. You would have been impressed by how fast my arm flew into my bag to get one of our cards! So, we explained to her that the church was right down the street, and it is every Sunday but if she wanted to see it before we could take her and show her around. She got really excited and teary and said..."I have been praying for a long time to be able to find a church close to my home for my kids, because I want them to know how important it is to have God in their lives." Okay, by this point Soeur Ellis and I were ready to do cartwheels in our skirts. She was SO legit! We were able to pray with her and she committed to come to church on Sunday....
Well...Saturday rolled around and I called her to double check to see if she was still planning on it, and when she answered the phone, she recognized my voice and got really excited. The first thing she said was, "We still have church tomorrow right?"....Yeah, we were on Cloud 9.
It was funny because Saturday night...we met a lady on the bus named Mme. Bernard, she is from Haiti and was just humming and singing a catchy tune, and so naturally when I hear a cool tune I start dancing...so, there I was kind of doing an awkward dance on the bus on the way home...and we ended up starting up a conversation with Mmd. Bernard. It was kind of funny, guess you had to be there. But anyways, she ended up getting off at the same arret as us, and she invited us to go to church with her at her Baptist church on Sunday....and we were like, 'No sorry we can't...but here is our card, do you want to come to ours.' And she thought about it for a long time, and she agreed to go with us! So, yesterday at church....we ended up having both Mme. Bernard and Marianne with all of her kids and a few of our other ami's come to church. We had a total of 5! Oh my gosh, it was a complete miracle!!!!
Plus, the elders had a baptism yesterday....so, the Spirit was pretty much flying all around the church of St. Ouen. #SUCCESS!
We also had another Book of Mormon activity. I have pictures on my i-pad that I can try to send later. I ended up going with Soeur Tippett this time. It was a lot of fun!! I think this time and the very first time were the most successful. I got a few swear words thrown at me this time...it was pretty eventful, but I loved it! Soeur Tippett and I contacted a T.J. (temoin jehovah) and two muslim girls and were able to pray with 3 people and give away 2 Book of Mormon's! With all the missionaries it was a total success! Everything has been based around the Book of Mormon this transfer. We are supposed to be having a big Coin de feu (fireside) this Saturday where President and Soeur Babin are going to be speaking. All the Paris missionaries are pretty excited about it.
We had someone break in to President Babin's car in Belgium last week while they were visiting for Zone Conferences. A whole bunch of missionaries mail was stolen, including a package that I sent to Soeur Clark for her birthday. That was kind of a bummer for everyone. But other than that, everything is going great!
Transfers are next week, so we will find out the changes on Saturday. Soeur Bell and Soeur Kitchen will be coming in to stay with us on Friday so that the 3 of us can pick up our 2nd year legality. Weird to think that we're that old in the mission. Well, that is all I have for right now. I love to hear from you guys. I get emails all week and love getting to read what you write.
Thank you for all the love and support! Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you!!!
Avec amour,
Soeur Hannah Nelson
P.S. these pictures are from our P-day adventures today at the Louvre!!!! We got to see the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo. #Lucky:)
