Hey I'm sending my email from Soeur Ellis' iPad...mine isn't working. I will try and send my stuff next week!
Hey everyone!
I'm sorry to say it encore, but today is going to be another short email. I started to get super sick on Saturday night again and I haven't been doing so well. So, I'm sorry I don't have a lot of energy today. That's one of the big things that I've missed since I've been gone. I miss having my mom take care of me when I'm sick. Yeah, growing up sucks! But anyways...
Haha, it was kind of funny...this morning we were both laying in our beds working on our emails to send and watching Mormon messages; and I was so congested and sniffling sounding like a noob, and the Mormon message of Elder Holland came on where he says, 'There comes a time where all of us need to know that things will get better', and despite my plugged ears, I heard it and yelled "yeah!"...Soeur Ellis was laughing super hard! Haha, it was funnier in the moment.guess you had to be there.
Well, despite my awkward sickness we had a pretty good week. Soeur Ellis and I finished our P-day last week by going to our new ami Casemira's house. Turns out she's from Cape Verde not Greece. Awkward miscommunication. But we had a really good lesson with her and her 4 daughters and we ended up seeing them again last night. She is so cute! When she found out that I'm sick, she grabbed her own coat to put on me and made one of her daughters pull out all the blankets in their apartment and were throwing them on me. I felt like a princess:) Casemira came to church again yesterday too! They are awesome! We are hoping to get her daughters to come to church soon. They are adorable and would be kickbutt in young women's. The only thing that is really holding Casemira back is alcohol. Soeur Ellis and I have a lot of faith in her though. It will all work out.
Um...the videos below are of me and Ellis taking a little break during our weekly planning session. I had some face masks that my wonderful mother sent me awhile ago in my suitcase, and we decided to go all out and exfoliate while talking about our Amis. It was a full on fête! You can try and watch whichever one is less awkward. Hehe.
We also did a ton of service this past week. We helped one of our less actives and her daughter Sarah sort out clothes to throw away. I have pictures on my camera that I will try and send next week. Sarah ended up asking me to do her hair and asked me to come back during the week to do it again. It was cool because Sarah ended up coming to church for the first time yesterday. Ah, it was so cool! We also went and helped one of our Amis Abba (like the band:), put up wallpaper in her apartment. We went with the elders and were able to teach an awesome lesson with them after they gave Abba a blessing. It was a fun time. Well, apart from the moments where the elders thought it would be funny to wipe glue chunks all over me and Soeur Ellis. They were having a heyday smacking that crap on us. It was fun to be together though because on Wednesday Elder Oviatt headed back to good ol Canada. We lost a member of the St. Ouen clan...it was really hard to say goodbye to him. We're missing him déjà! He was even kind enough to make me a planner before he left. The other picture below is of us when we went to pick up our legality that ended up not being ready. We stopped into the bureau to pick up our timbres and ended up taking a pic with the A.P.'s:) Both Elder Lattin and Elder Amaya are in my group and will be going home with me. So, that's cool.
We had a pretty awesome day at church yesterday...we were able to get 3 of our Amis at church and 5 less actives. We were giving each other fist bumps all throughout the meeting when somebody would walk in the door. It was a really good day.
Everything is going pretty well here. The weather is getting colder and there are a lot of missionaries and members getting sick. They are starting to bring coats out in stores and it makes me sad to think that winter is coming because that means my time here in France as a missionary is coming to an end. I hit my 14th month mark on Wednesday, crazy how fast time flies! But that's forever away so we won't talk about that.
Well, that's about it...I'm sorry this email is a little weird and not the best. I am still a little out of it and honestly just trying to stay conscious. I love you all and I hope you have a great week. If you ever get the chance to drop me a line, I would love to hear from you. I get to read my emails all throughout the week so when I get one, I get uber excited! I love and miss ya! Let me know if there is anything I can do for ya....Bon Semaine!
Bisous,
Soeur Nelson
